Colonial Life names four to new leadership posts

Colonial Life has named four employees to new leadership positions within the company.

John Garrison has been named chief compliance officer for Unum Group, which includes Colonial Life, Unum US and Unum UK. Garrison previously served as Colonial Life’s vice president and general counsel and will remain at the Columbia office. He joined the Colonial Life law department in 1992.

ColonialLifelogoRonda Tranter has been named vice president and chief business operations counsel. Tranter most recently served as assistant vice president of Public Sector Strategy Partnerships. Prior to that Tranter was an assistant vice president and senior counsel in the law department.

David Murphy has been named vice president, Growth Markets team. Murphy has more than 24 years of industry experience with health, disability and life product knowledge. For the last six years, he has been responsible for underwriting group disability, life and voluntary benefits for the Unum’s South Region, as well as the Chattanooga, Tenn.-based underwriting support team.

Bridget Bennon-Lytton has been named product owner of the Customer Web Applications team. With the company since 1985, Bennon-Lytton spent the past seven years as an assistant vice president in Premier Client Services. Prior to that, she held leadership roles in account management, policyholder services and enrollment services.
